What to expect from local fridge repair
RV refrigerators are finicky. A cooling unit that won't get cold, a freezer that ices over, or an error code on the control board can all leave you stuck. Art's RV handles fridge and awning work, and they've been around long enough to have seen most failures. With 203 reviews and a 4.1 rating, they're not perfect, but they're experienced. Call ahead and describe the symptom. Ask if they have the part in stock or if it needs ordering. In summer, fridge repairs back up quickly, so booking early helps. If you're handy, check the basics first: is the fridge level, are the vents clear, and is the LP tank full? Sometimes a simple fix saves a shop visit.
Mobile techs and nearby alternatives
Glen Ellyn has no mobile RV techs listed for fridge work, so you'll likely need to take your rig to a shop. The good news is that 12 other repair shops are within reach, and some may offer mobile service. If your fridge is built in and you can't drive it, ask if a mobile tech can come to you. Otherwise, plan to drop off the RV. While you're at it, ask them to check the roof seals and awning fabric, since those are common leak points. A quick inspection now can prevent a bigger problem later.
Warranty and parts questions
No shop in Glen Ellyn is listed as doing warranty work for fridges, so if your RV is under warranty, call the manufacturer first. They may pre-approve a repair at a shop of your choice. Ask about parts availability before you commit. Some fridge parts are universal, but others are model-specific and can take days to arrive. If you're planning a trip, don't wait until the last minute. A fridge that's not cooling can often be repaired, but it's better to fix it at home than on the road.
