California winters are mild until they aren't. One wet week in the Sierra foothills or a hard freeze in the Central Valley will find the weak spot in your plumbing, and most of the damage happens while the rig sits. There are 43 winterization shops and mobile techs in the state, rated 4.1 on average. Some handle the whole job, some just blow out lines. Know which one you called.

Winterizing in California is less about deep cold and more about the surprise cold. Lines get blown out with air, the water heater and fresh tank get drained, and antifreeze goes where it belongs. Plenty of owners skip it because the forecast looks fine, then a cold snap hits while the RV is stored. All 43 shops here list winterize, and 40 also do roof work. That matters, because a failed roof seal lets water in long before a frozen pipe does. Book the roof check and the line blowout together. Ask what gets drained and what gets bypassed. A shop that rushes the water heater is one you will remember in spring.
Eleven of the 43 are mobile, which is the easier call if the rig is already parked for the season and you would rather not tow it. The rest are fixed shops, and some of them are big enough to handle collision and bodywork alongside a simple winterization. If you want it done before the first cold night, call in early fall. The good shops fill up as the weather turns, and the ones with strong reviews, like Allied Trailer Service & Repair Center and Ultimate RV Repair, are not sitting idle. Ask whether the part you need is in stock before you haul the rig over.
Winterization often uncovers something else. A cracked fitting, a tired water pump, a slide-out that has been sluggish since summer. California has 35 shops that handle slide-outs, 33 for generators, and 23 that do body work, so most problems found during a fall check can be fixed on the same visit. Warranty coverage is the question to settle first. Twenty-nine of the 43 say they do warranty work, but that is not the same as your policy being approved. Get pre-approval before the tech starts, or you may be the one paying for a repair you thought was covered.
There are 43 shops and mobile techs listed for RV winterization in California, with an average rating of 4.1. Eleven of them are mobile, so they can come to where the rig is stored. The rest are fixed shops, and many handle roof, slide-out, and appliance work too.
Twenty-nine of the 43 say they do warranty work. That does not mean every repair is covered under your policy. Call your warranty provider for pre-approval before the work starts, and confirm the shop will bill them directly or whether you pay and get reimbursed.
If the RV is already parked for the season and the job is a straightforward drain and blowout, mobile is easier and avoids a tow. For anything that turns into roof, body, or slide-out repair, a shop with the right tools is usually the better call. Ask either one what they can actually do on site.
Mild winters still bring cold nights, especially inland and at elevation, and a stored RV is more exposed than a driven one. Winterizing also gives a tech a reason to look over the roof and plumbing. Treat it as a fall inspection that happens to include the water system.
