What to know before you call
When your generator quits, start with the simple stuff. Check the oil level and the fuel supply. If it cranks but won't start, it might be the fuel pump or a clogged carburetor. A mobile tech can come to you, but in Sunbury the generator work is done at shops. That means you'll need to drop off your RV or have it towed. Call ahead to see if they can look at it the same day. Ask if the part is in stock, because waiting on a fuel pump can take a week. Wilson RV handles chassis work too, so they can check the generator mount and wiring while they're in there.
Who does generator work around here
Wilson RV on the north side has a 4.4-star rating from 23 reviews and works on generators, AC, fridges, awnings, tires, electrical, and windshields. They also do warranty and insurance work, which is handy if your generator is still covered. Discount RV Sales & Service is smaller with just two reviews but a perfect 5.0 rating, and they list generator and chassis among their services. Camping World - Sunbury has 794 reviews and a 3.9 rating, and they're open weekends, which helps if you're leaving on a Friday. The separate Camping World RV Service location handles roof, fridge, awning, water heater, slide-out, electrical, solar, and generator work, but has no reviews yet. For warranty pre-approval, call Wilson RV first.
Mobile techs and what they can't do
There are no mobile generator techs listed in Sunbury right now, but there is one nearby if you widen the search. Mobile work is great for minor fixes, but generator repairs often need a shop with a load bank and diagnostic tools. If your generator needs to come out, that's a shop job. If you're stuck at a campground, call around and ask if they do mobile diagnostics. Some shops will send a tech to confirm the problem before you pay for a tow. Just don't expect them to rebuild a generator in the dirt.
